Playing games online

There are many sites online where you can play games. Some of these games are games you play with others (multiplayer games) and some are just games you play with yourself (single player games). If you ask me it's always fun to play a good game with some other people however not everybody likes multiplayer games, and there are some really good single player games out there. Listed below are a few of the better and more popular sites out there to find and play games. If you find a good site and think it should be added to the list, please let me know and I'll take a look at it.

 
The language: Game lingo and acronyms

In multiplayer games you can chat with others, in these games you will notice a few more acronyms than you normally do when chatting with people. Some of the most common acronyms used in online gaming are listed below:
AFK     Away From Keyboard
B     Back
BRB     Be Right Back
E1     Everyone
FTW     For The Win
G1     Good One
GG     Good Game
GGA     Good Game All
GJ     Good Job
GL     Good Luck
LMAO     Laughing My Ass Off
LOL     Laugh Out Loud
ROFL     Roll On Floor Laughing
TY     Thank You
TY U2     Thank You, You Too
WTG     Way To Go
WB     Welcome Back
YW     Your Welcome

TIP: Keep these acronyms as a guide, people like to make up their own all the time, and many of these will be combined or changed a little.

Excite Games - Lots of games.
Flipside Network - Lots of different games and the official site of Hoyle games.
GeoSense - This is a fun geography game. Play it single player or with others.
Hardwood Spades - This is THE BEST spades game on the net (or elsewhere). It's a free 30 day trial.
Lycos Gamesville - Some games including a few games you can play in e-mail.
PlaySite - Lots of classic Hasbro board games, Atari arcade games, and card games.
Pogo.com - Lots of games.
The Station - Sony's game site with lots of original games.
UpRoar - Lots of games including some Game shows, now part of the Flipside Network.
